About

Hi I'm Amy, and this is my family.

Thank you so much for visiting my page! I am a small business owner and homeschooling mother of two children (and two fur babies).

I received my BA in business with a concentration in accounting, but store it in my back pocket for a rainy day. I was fortunate enough to start a successful medical billing company with my husband three years before graduating college and it has supported our family since 2004, allowing us to spend our days together.

In 2018 I started my homeschooling journey. Our children were in a private school that was not meeting our needs and out of desperation I pulled my daughter from fourth grade and decided it was sink or swim. Thankfully I learned to swim quickly!  My son finished out his year and chose to transfer to our local public school for junior high, which has been a good fit for him. Through this journey, I discovered I absolutely LOVE teaching my daughter! A researcher by nature and a lifelong learner, this is my dream job!

A brief introduction to our family: My husband and I met in 1999 and married in 2004. We love to spend time together, traveling or hanging out by our pool. Our 12 year old son is a weight lifter and on a trap and skeet shooting team. He loves to ride his mountain bike and dirt bike with my husband in his spare time. Our ten year old daughter is a competitive dancer who loves all things art, slime, and makeup. I was hired last year to teach at her studio (I also grew up dancing and teaching, but then life...) and have since been moved to the senior team coach for the company. We enjoy being together and dancing in all our free time. I am so unbelievably thankful for this amazing family of mine!

I created this page to share our journey.

Homeschool related: I love sharing reviews on what we love, and don't love so much, what works for us, and how we plan our days, weeks and years.

Food related: We are a primarily gluten free, sugar free family, so I love sharing our food adventures and recipes.

Family related: Life in general. The good and the bad. Traveling and making memories. We have visited 25 states in two years! We will share our adventures here!
